The Nira 6B hand pump, ideal for various uses: reliable and durable

The Nira 6B has numerous applications. It can be used in a waterfront sauna, in a garden, in agriculture, or in industry, to name but a few applications. The Nira 6B is mostly rustproof, but is not intended for pumping drinking water. There is also completely stainless Nira 6B in our choice and four different sealing material for different liquids.

The pump has a head of 4 metres and, when using the bottom valve, the head extends up to 8 metres. The pump has ¾” or 1” threaded flanges. If the pump is used to lift water and is used in an environment in which there is a risk of freezing then the pump must be emptied before the temperature drops below freezing.

The Nira 6B can withstand a momentary pressure of approximately 3 bar. The pump must not be installed in a water mains in which it is constantly under pressure. When briskly pumping, the pump's output is about 40 litres per minute.

The Nira 6B hand pump is extremely reliable and durable even under demanding conditions. It is very easy to use and can pump water, various fuel types, oils, or glycol, to name a few. The Nira 6B is mostly rustproof, but is not intended for pumping drinking water. There is also completely stainless Nira 6B in our choice. The Nira 6B has numerous applications. It can be used in a waterfront sauna, in a garden, in agriculture, or in industry, to name but a few applications. It can be used to lift water from a well, a lake, or the sea, for example, or to empty a basement or flood basin. By installing the pump in the fuel tank, you can use the pump to refuel machinery, or transfer fluids from one tank to another. Different fluid types may require different sealing materials.

The Nira 6B pump has been manufactured in Finland since the 1960s. Some of those early, now over-fifty-year-old pumps remain in use to this day. This illustrates the Nira 6B’s very high quality and durability, and highlights its wide range of applications. The Nira 6B is an excellent choice to serve as a back-up pump for an electric pump, should there be a power failure, as it operates reliably regardless of the conditions.

The pump is operated by moving the hand lever back and forth. The pump is easy to install and comes pre-assembled: all you need to do is connect the pipes to the pump’s top and bottom flanges. The pump has a head of 4 metres and, when using the bottom valve, the head extends up to 8 metres. The pump has ¾” or 1” threaded flanges. We recommend using a hard plastic pipe as the suction pipe instead of a soft hose. No pipes or fittings are supplied with the pump.

The pump does not drain after use. In addition, if there is a bottom valve at the end of the suction pipe, the liquid will remain in the suction pipe. This makes the pump lightweight and easy to use. However, the pump is not suitable for drinking water due to the very fact that water remains standing inside it. If the pump is used to lift water and is used in an environment in which there is a risk of freezing then the pump must be emptied before the temperature drops below freezing. If water becomes frozen inside the pump then the pump may be damaged. It can be fully drained by removing the suction pipe from its lower flange and then pumping it empty.

The Nira 6B can withstand a momentary pressure of approximately 3 bar. The pump must not be installed in a water mains in which it is constantly under pressure. When briskly pumping, the pump's output is about 40 litres per minute. The pump’s design is sleek and timeless, and it weighs approximately 3.3 kilos. The pump does not require regular maintenance, but all of its parts are available from the manufacturer as spare parts.

The pump is available with four sealing options:

nitrile seals are designed for use with water, diesel, oils, and glycol. Nitrile seals can withstand temperatures of -15 degrees below zero.

Viton seals are designed for petroleum, water, diesel, and oils. Viton seals can withstand temperatures of -5 degrees below zero.

ECO seals are designed for cold conditions and are suitable for oils and diesel. ECO seals can withstand temperatures of -30 degrees below zero. ECO seals are not suitable for pumping water.

EPDM seal are designed for acetone and water, but EPDM seals are not suitable for any oil substances. EPDM seals can withstand temperatures of -30 degrees below zero.

If you install the pump in a tank, make sure that the tank does not empty itself due to the siphoning effect
